Hypotheses & Research Methodology

  • Hypotheses
  • Research Methodology
This section describes how quantitative methods may be used to help policy-makers make better decisions. The research focuses on the decision-making process and on the role of quantitative analysis in that process.

One of widely known characteristics of quantitative analysis that will become important through this research is the attempt to find for the best solution to the problem in hand. In carrying out the quantitative analysis activities, we attempt to develop procedures (steps) for finding the "best", the most optimal solution or at least the "most" feasible policy alternative.
  • Summary
The different between the model and the "real" situation it represent is extremely important point, if not vital. Mathematical models are abstractions of real-world situations and, as such, cannot fully capture all aspects of the real situation. However, if a model can be developed and can capture major relevant aspects of the problem and can provide a solution recommendation, then such model can be very valuable to assist and aid to decision making of policy-makers.
